Hamsa

Scarf: Courtesy of Otrera, Dress: Bensoni

The Hamsa is used to ward off evil spirits and with tons of crazy meetings and schedules this week and next, I think I may need it! Plus, I'm a sucker for ancient symbolism and if I wasn't a fashion blogger I would be an archaeologist and iconography specialist.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

In Morocco, We call it "khmissa" or "Fatima's hand", it protects you from the evil eye. We put it on jeweleries, embroderies etc.... I have a bracelet like that you can see it here: http://ginger-chocolateandhoney.blogspot.com/2010/04/outfit-of-day_14.html#comments

Gorgeous scarf! When I was little I wanted to be a medical researcher, ended up becoming an economist though. Now I'm a businesswoman I guess? ahah I don't even know what I'd call myself :)
