Mid-Week News

LiLo is the new Ungaro..?

Is WWD really trying to find a way to compare Emanuel Ungaro with Lindsey Lohan?  After a disastrous Spring showing with LiLo at the creative design reigns, some are trying to find a speck of glittery (LOL) hope. They are trying to make the claim that both "designers" worked in tandem, dealt with a lot of press, and were considered too sexy.  I'm sorry, I didn't realize sparkly pasties were considered sexy or press worthy?

Saving Face

Coming right off the heels of a gorgeous Teen Vogue cover with two successful and sought after African American models, French Vogue paints Lara Stone's face black in their newest issue.  Really French Vogue?? You couldn't use any of the hundreds of amazing African American models out there?

Here are a few suggestions:  Arlenis Sosa, Jourdan Dunn, Chanel Iman, Alek Wek, Selita Ebanks, Sesilee Lopez... Must I go on??  Oh and for the record, this month's issue is their "Supermodel issue".  No non-white model made the cut.

Anyone else see the disconnect between France's diplomatic gestures (Sarkozy and Obama are BFF) and French Vogue's editorial view point? Just saying.

Glamorous Layoffs

Everyone is holding their breath waiting to hear Conde Nast and McKinsey's next lay off move.  Glamour has something like a 23 person fashion department and looks like a prime candidate.   Although I just saw Suze Yalof Schwarz on the 4th hour of the Today Show asking a girl on the street if she wanted to come work for Glamour because of how cute she dressed.  Rose colored glasses must be in for Fall?

Megan Fox is in her underwear....again

Megan Fox scantily clad?  No surprise there.  Megan Fox has replaced Victoria Beckham as the new Armani underwear model.  So if David Beckham posed along side his wife for the previous Armani ads, does this mean we will be have to see Brian Austin Green in his underwear?  Please don't take the innocence of David Silver away from us.

xoxo,

SG
