When I first saw the Malandrino collection a few months ago at Fashion Week, I was blown away by the use of texture. Her inspiration was an antique mongolian fur chair (see first collage) that she proudly displays in her showroom surrounded by the same repeated texture in all of her lines.
Lucky for us contemporary shoppers out there, that inspiration has also spilled into the Catherine Malandrino line. Still retaining her signature sense of femininity, Catherine worked with oversized chunky knits, shearling, faux suede, and textured leather to echo the luxury quality of the Malandrino line but with a more accessible price point.
All of the pieces have a raw and organic vibe to them which sort of makes me feel like we came out of the cave to find other things to clothe us but ultimately evolved back to wanting mongolian fur, raw jagged edged leather, and animal print.
It's one of my favorite collections for Fall so I thought it fit to share with you all! Also, for something super affordable, Catherine has designed eco friendly tote bags in honor of Earth Week! Shamefully I didn't even know it was Earth Week soon, but apparently it is April 19th-24th.
Bags will be available in Catherine Malandrino boutiques nationwide for just $25!

SG
