A few weeks ago I had the chance to interview emerging designers at a Lord & Taylor event and instantly made friends with one of the contestants, Shawn Reddy. He had made an amazing black dress with grommets and gold chains in the back, which I instantly fell in love with. No surprise there as I firmly believe I came out of the womb gilded.
The Parsons grad currently is a designer at Calvin Klein, but has been working on his namesake collection, which is minimalistically futuristic in the most fabulous way. We both gushed over our love for Francisco Costa, Tilda Swinton, and Jil Sander and clearly you can see those interests come through in his work.
I love the sleek, clean lines in his collection and am super excited to possibly work some of his clothes into a shoot :). I would die to wear one of the dresses with a pair of the Urban Warrior Balenciaga heels from Spring '10.
