Alice + Olivia Spring '10

I absolutely loved the concept for the Alice + Olivia presentation.  In a cool industrial space on 15th street, Stacey Bendet showed her collection while the Brit-It band, Plastiscines, jammed to a packed, uber chic crowd.

The presentation style was darling and made for a cool contrast to the rockish vibe happening with the music and the space.   The set design reminded me of the recent Australian Vogue shoot where they did an illustrated set background of Paris.  The models held cardboard cutouts of ice cream cones, balloons, and flowers.  Perhaps this is where Stacey got her inspiration, n'est-ce pas?

The clothes were less edgy and sequin-y than past collections.  The Alice + Olivia girl will be more girly this spring sporting a softer color palette.  Note: every girl wearing A+O last night was wearing something sequined and rockish.  Including Kristen Cavilleri and some 12 year olds that I saw bouncing around.  What is with pre-pubescent girls attending late night fashion week parties?  Yes, Tavi, that means you too.  Oh, and the shoes were all Alice + Olivia for Payless! Love.

Tons of celebs were in attendance as well.  Mena Suvari has been making the Fashion Week loop.  I saw her at Christian Siriano as well.  And no downtown fashion week party would be complete without stars from The Hills, The City, and The New York Housewives (all sans camera crews).  Lindsay Lohan, Kristen Cavalleri, Erin Lucas, Kelly Bensimon, and Jill Zarin were spotted at the bash and all were wearing A+O!

xoxo,

SG
