The Fashion World Is Flat

Are countries using the concept of Fashion Week to keep their cultural identity?  Newsweek is reporting this week on fashion and globalization and how struggling entities can make a "social statement" with shows.   With new technology and cultural lines blurring, fashion shows bring with them a level of optimism and cultural recognition.
Australia also flies a fashion pride flag by nominating internationally acclaimed Aussie models as "Model Ambassadors".  Elle has been one and now Miranda Kerr has the privilege.  This new trend of merging politics with fashion is definitely hot and definitely here to stay... at least until the world is round again.
