Life with Bird

There are always instances when getting dressed when you feel like you are missing something basic but chic in your wardrobe.  You end up spending all your money on pieces that you find trendy at the time and then you have nothing to pair with them.  Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor's new line, Bird, consists of pieces that you always wished you had in your wardrobe.  A sleek, chic black pencil skirt, a slouchy black sweater, that staple black wool coat that carries you all through winter...  Bird's small 30 piece collection fills those voids.  Unlike its little sister line Juicy Couture which is more laid back and sometimes trend focused, Bird consists of timeless pieces that can be considered investments without a super investment price.  And these pieces are far from dull, bridging a gap between a closet staple basic and a piece with enviable details.  They also updated their signature track suit, adding a skinny leg and a more urban, edgy older sister look (see top left image).  I am absolutely looking forward to living in that suit year round..perfect flight-chic outfit.

The showing was held in a suite at the newly renovated Plaza Hotel, which is absolutely magnificent.  Conveniently located next to Bergdorf Goodman, I swung by the shoe sale....again... and shoes are now 50 percent off and there are still heaps of shoes, FYI.

.

Bird hits store in August selling at Bergdorf Goodman, select Juicy stores, and for all of you non-New Yorkers you can get your hands on these pieces on Net-A-Porter or online at Juicycouture.com.  Pieces start at $150 with most pieces around 300, unless its outerwear which can go up to $1000.

xoxo,

SG
